Join Harry Rosenfeld, Editor-at-Large and a consultant at the Times Union, and current Editor and Vice President at the Times Union, Rex Smith, for an armchair conversation highlighting Rosenfeld's newest book, Battling Editor: The Albany Years (Excelsior Editions, 2019). Rosenfeld recounts the transformation of two daily newspapers, the morning Times Union and the evening Knickerbocker News, in the face of economic downturns and sweeping technological change.
According to publisher SUNY Press: "Written at a time when the credibility of news organizations is under attack by those at the highest levels of government, Battling Editor is a full-throated defense of fact-based journalism and hard-hitting reporting at the local as well as national level."
This evening is hosted by The College of Saint Rose with welcome remarks from Carolyn J. Stefanco, Ph.D., President of the College, and introduction of the two editors by Cailin Brown, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Chiar of the College's Communication Department.
